International Women's Day Proceeds Presented to Port Stephens Family and Neighbourhood Services
Port Stephens MP Kate Washington and Paterson MP Meryl Swanson have today presented the proceeds of the recent International Women’s Day breakfast to the Port Stephens Family and Neighbourhood Services.
The well attended breakfast co-hosted by the two MPs saw the return of an International Women’s Day event to the Raymond Terrace area.
This event heard from young women high school leaders from Irrawang High School and Hunter River High School, as well as Hunter High School principal Deb Dibley.
The Port Stephens Family and Neighbourhood Service is the local homelessness and domestic violence referral centre and offers a range of services including housing support, financial counselling, parenting support and more.
Raffle prizes donated by local women-run home businesses and an online auction of artworks from Lemon Tree Passage artist Jenny Crozier generated significant donations.
The event was made possible due to the support of Newcastle Airport, Hunter Water, Raymond Terrace MarketPlace, Tomago Aluminium and Hunter Region Botanic Gardens.
The event collected approximately $4,000, with proceeds going towards the Port Stephens Family and Neighbourhood Service and the volunteer run Hunter Region Botanic Gardens.
